About the Grant:

RMC’s Wildfire Prevention Grant Program funds planning and on-the-ground work to reduce wildfire risk and improve forest/urban wildlands health within the Conservancy’s territory (eastern LA County and western Orange County). Priorities include native forest/wildlands protection, community resilience and fire safety, sustainable land use, workforce development in wildlands management, and protecting cultural resources vulnerable to fire. Categories include San Gabriel Mountains & Foothills prevention/management, Urban Wildlands & Hills fuel reduction/defensible space, and Forest Health recovery/restoration/stewardship. Eligible applicants include public agencies, tribes, and nonprofits; preference for projects with match, though not required.
