Planning & Design: up to $500,000; Development caps vary by applicant type; total cap per lead applicant up to $15M.

About the Grant:

RPOSD’s 2025 Competitive Grant Programs provide Measure A funding for Planning & Design and shovel-ready Development projects across LA County. Goals include park equity, climate resilience (heat-island reduction, stormwater capture), habitat/biodiversity, access, multi-use trails, and regional recreation. Eligible applicants include Agencies of Record (cities, special districts), other public agencies, nonprofits, JPAs, and school districts (with public access). At least 30% of funds in each program are set aside for projects in High/Very High Need Study Areas. Planning & Design minimum $100,000/maximum $500,000; total available funds $58M across Category 3 (Natural Lands, Beaches, Water Conservation & Protection) and Category 4 (Regional Recreation, Multi-Use Trails & Accessibility). The Grants Management System opens August 1, 2025; applications are due October 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM PT. Anticipated award announcement by March 2026. This is directly applicable to LA County departments, cities, and nonprofits seeking capital or pre-construction funding for parks and open space.
