Midsize and Large Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Program
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (Office of Water)
Total Grant Value:
$9,500,000
Individual Grant Award Maximum:
Estimated award range is approximately $1.19M to $2.38M per project.
About the Grant:
EPA’s DWSIRSA program (SDWA §1459F; CFDA 66.488) funds projects that increase resilience of midsize (10,000–99,999 population served) and large (100,000+) public drinking water systems to natural hazards, extreme weather, and cybersecurity threats. Eligible applicants are public water systems serving ≥10,000 people (including LA County Waterworks Districts and municipal systems). Eligible activities include planning/design and construction such as flood hardening, relocation or elevation of vulnerable assets, energy efficiency upgrades, watershed/source water protection, water reuse/desalination, backup power, emergency response readiness, and cybersecurity upgrades (e.g., SCADA hardening, MFA, network segmentation). Two national priority areas cover midsize and large systems; awards have 1–4 year periods. No local match is specified in the NOFO text beyond federal requirements; applicants should verify budget and cost-share notes within the full announcement. LA County agencies can apply directly, and projects must be supported by risk and resilience assessments and demonstrate quantifiable resilience benefits.
